PAID SICK LEAVE
As passed by voters in November of 2024, employers will be required to provide all employees Paid Sick Leave beginning on May 1, 2025, or their commencement of employment, whichever is later. Employers will be required to provide employees written notice of this change no later than April 15, 2025 on a single piece of paper, at least 8.5 x 11, in no less than 14-point font. Posters may also be displayed that contain pertinent information, provided that such poster has been made available by the Missouri Department of Labor. All employees will be eligible to earn paid sick leave at a rate of 1 hour earned for every 30 hours worked. Links to the revisions as reported on Missouri’s website can be found on the pdf below. Please familiarize yourself with these to be prepared for the upcoming changes. As your payroll provider, our software used to process payroll does have the capabilities of accruing earned and tracking used time by employees. As the employer, it will be your duty to adhere to the recordkeeping requirements for such time tracked. Please contact your payroll accountant if you would like for us to track this time for employees. We will do our best to help with these changes.
